The EAA
Young Eagles program was launched in 1992.
Our mission is to provide a meaningful flight
experience - free of charge - in a general aviation
aircraft for young people (primarily between the
ages of 8 and 17).
Since the program's
inception, more than 1.1 million Young Eagles have
flown under the auspices of the program. These
flights have been provided through the generosity of
nearly 40,000 EAA member volunteer pilots
and ground crew.
Young Eagle flights have
been conducted in every state in America; each
province in Canada; and in more than 90 other
countries. The flights have been safely conducted in
nearly every type of general aviation aircraft, from
light planes to business jets, and
everything in between!
The Bismarck/Mandan
chapter of the EAA has provided airplane rides to
over 400 area youth and we continue to seek out
volunteer pilots and young people interested in
participating.
